  • Np ref from cockpit (INCR/ DECR)
  • Fault indication
  • Load sharing, TQ limit 5%
  • Transient droop improvment
  • History counter
  • Hot start prevention
    • ODV shut fuel when

Q
  • Describe the primary functions of the engine alternator
  • and the indication(s) of an engine alternator failure.
A
  • The engine alternator supplies ac power to the ignition exciter and DEC (or EDECU) unit. It also supplies a signal to the Ng SPEED cockpit indicator. All essential engine electrical functions are powered by the alternator.
  • When the alternator Ng signal is interrupted, a loss of the associated engine Ng indication, and an ENG OUT warning and audio will occur.

Q

Given these departure conditions what is the Maximum Torque Available dual/single engine and explain how it is calculated?

TEMP 35 Degrees

PA 2000’

ETF 1.0/.92

ATF .96

A
  • Dual
    • Use 7A-11 10 min limit after TQ ratio reduction (@ 35 no change)
    • 113% x .096 (ATF) = 108%
  • Singel
    • Use 7A-10 2,5 min limit after TQ ratio reduction
      • 118 x 1.0 = 118%
      • 118 x 0.92 = 108%

Q

What are the four principles of Risk Management (RM)?

A
  • The principles of RM are:
    • Integrate RM into all phases of missions and operations.
    • Make risk decisions at the appropriate level.
    • Accept no unnecessary risk.
    • Apply RM cyclically and continuously.
