What are the stages of team development?
Tuckman Theory
FSNPM
- Forming - when people are working as individuals
- Storming - stage of conflict (both internally and externally)
- Norming - team starts to achieve its potential
- Performing - when a team is characterised by openness and flexibility and prioritises development of other team members
- Mourning - when the team disbands
What should be considered when forming a team? (in addition to the Equality Act 2010)
There are 2 main requirements in selecting team members:
- a range of the necessary technical and specialist skills, and
- a variety of personal styles to fill the different roles
What is a RACI matrix?
It is a model that describes the participation of various roles in completing tasks for a project or business and there are four key responsibilities:
- Responsible
- Accountable
- Consulted
- Informed

Diversity in the workplace relates to the acceptance and inclusion of employees from all backgrounds
What are some advantages of a diverse team?
- Diversity of talent results in a broader range of skills, perspectives, experiences and ideas leading to enhanced problem solving, increased productivity and innovation.
- It addresses the needs of a broader range of stakeholders and
- Diverse teams are better at adapting to change and reflecting the values of modern, globalised society
What is workplace inclusion?
It is an environment where all employees feel like they belong in the organisation and that no one feels excluded based their identity
What is meant by the term unconscious bias?
Unconscious bias refers to the unconscious assumptions that someone may have about a person solely because of their race, gender or disability

- There was a requirement to produce a certain report
- I was able to collaborate with an older colleague whom was able to offer valuable insights form their experience as to what should be included in that report
- Whilst I was able to suggest the use of a digital tool (PowerBI) to better visualise and improve efficiency of the reporting
- This diversity within the team enhanced the problem solving and innovation of the solution
