‘lead pipe’ rigidity, tremor, AMS, unstable vital signs
akathisia characteristics
extreme restlessness
Parkinsonism characteristics
bradykinesia, tremor, cogwheel rigidity
tardive dyskinesia characteristics
abnormal involuntary movements (e.g. lip smacking, grimacing, blinking)
tardive dyskinesia tx
lower the dose or remove offending agent
lower risk with atypicals

diphenhydramine or benztropine
and/or lower the dose or remove offending agent
akathisia tx
propranolol
neuroleptic malignant syndrome tx
remove offending agent, supportive care, bromocriptine or dantroline
