Anaphylaxis
- Acute onset skin/mucosal involvement with either respiratory compromise or reduced BP or
- Two of (skin/mucosal involvement, respiratory compromise, reduce BP, persistent GI symptoms) after allergen exposure or
- Low BP after known allergen exposure
Anorexia nervosa
Restriction leading to BMI <18.5 or <5%lie in kids
Fear of weight gain and persistent behaviour to interfere with same
Disturbance in the perception of weight
Restricting type: in last 3 months no binge purge
B/P: last 3 months recurrent binge purge
Bulimia Nervosa
Recurrent binge eating with both of:
- Eating in a short period more than most people
- Lack of control over eating during episode
Compensatory act to prevent weight gain (Vomit etc)
Once a week for 3 months
Self evaluation based on body shape and weight
Not only during episodes of anorexia
Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder
Functionally impairing eating decrease not caused by lack of food, not happening only during AN/BN, no evidence in disturbance of one’s perceived weight or body shape. Not due to medical condition
AOM
Onset of otalgia within 48hrs with
Middle ear fluid
Inflammation of middle ear
Angina chest pain
Dull RSCP
provoked by exercise or stress
Relieved within <5min rest or by nitroglycerin
ACS
Rest angina >20min
New onset angina that markedly limits physical activity
Increasing angina that is more frequent/longer duration/or easier to trigger
COPD exacerbation
Increased sputum purulence with one of either sputum volume or dyspnea
Metabolic syndrome
BP>130/80
FBG 6.1-6.9
HDL (<1 men, <1.3 women)
TG>1.7
Waist circumference
Rheumatoid arthritis
Morning stiffness for greater than one hour on going for six weeks
Arthritis and soft tissue swelling of greater than three out of 14 groups for six weeks
Arthritis of the hand joints for greater than six weeks
Symmetrical arthritis for greater than six weeks
Rheumatoid nodules
Rheumatoid fascia above, 95 percentile
Radiological changes suggestive of joint erosion
AUB
Bleed between periods
Outside of 24-38 days
Post menopause bleed
After sex
Heavy bleed during period
Chronic pain
Pain >3 months or
Pain persists beyond reasonable time for injury to heal
Pain >1 month after usual course of illness
Transformed migraine
> 15d/month
5d barbiturates
8d opioids
10d NSAIDS and Tylenol
More tension and MSK symptoms
Rome III Functional dyspepsia
One of the following for more than three months prior to diagnosis:
– Bothersome postprandial fullness
– Early satiety
– epigastric, pain or Bernie
Rome III for IBS
Recurrence abdominal pain in the last three months of at least three days per month. Symptoms must be present for six months, and include two of the following:
- improved with defaecation
- Associated with changes in stool frequency
– Associated with changes in stool consistency
