Design Strategies Flashcards
What are different design strategies?
Collaboration: Working together, User-centred design, Systems approach, Iterative design, Designing from material forms:Biomimicry and Avoiding Design Fixation.
Collaboration: Working together definition
When you’re in the initial stages of a product it is sometimes good to work with others as a part of your group.
User - Centred design definition
The wants and needs of the user are a priority. Their thoughts are given lots of attention through design work i.e. ergonomics
What is a systems approach?
Breaking down the design process into a number of different stages on doing each in turn.
What is Iterative Design?
It is a process that is centred around constant process of evaluation and improvement. It improves design based on the results of testing, constant improvement, step by step. The aim is to Analyse + Evaluate.
What is biomimicry?
Humans that copy design from nature
What is design fixation?
It is very limited and doesn’t allow you to be creative
How to avoid design fixation?
Collaboration, have feedback from users and test the product
