BMI calculation =
(weight in pounds x 703) / (height in inches x height in inches)
waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) =
WC in inches / height in inches
optimal TOTAL CHOLESTEROL =
< 200 mg/dL
optimal HDL =
> 50 mg/dL for women
heart protective is > 60 mmHg
optimal LDL =
< 100 mg/dL
optimal total cholesterol (TC) / HDL ratio =
< 4.5
optimal triglycerides level =
< 150 mg/dL
optimal glucose level =
< 100 mg/dL
optimal BP =
< 120/80 mmHg (LESS THAN*****)
Hypotension =
90/60 mmHg
Prehypertension =
120-139/89 mmHg
Hypertension =
140/90 mmHg
Immediate Medical Attention BP =
180/120 mmHg
normal/optimal BMI range =
18.5-24.99
lowest risk of disease: 22-24.99
optimal WC =
< 32.5 inches (for women)
optimal Waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) =
0.4 - 0.5
optimal Hemoglobin (for menstruating women) =
12.0 - 16.0 g/dl

Cholestech Steps (7):
1) Put on gloves
2) Perform finger prick
a) Warm up hands
b) Wipe finger with alcohol pad
c) Prick middle or ring finger on the side
d) WIPE AWAY FIRST DROP OF BLOOD
e) Use capillary tube at a descending angle to obtain blood
f) Hand her a cotton ball
g) Place blood in the well of the cassette
h) Hand her a bandaid
3) RUN: opens drawer
4) Put the cassette in WITHOUT touching magnetic band
5) RUN again
6) Clean all materials and wipe down all surfaces of table (sides too)
7) Go back when it beeps and record data – hit DATA to obtain all information
