Clinical Features of Delirium

A
  • Acute onset
  • Fluctuating course
  • Impaired attention
  • Altered level of consciousness- abnormal levels of arousal (sometimes hypervigilant sometimes the opposite)
  • Memory deficits
  • Disorientation: early sign is cant track time
  • Disorganized thoughts
  • Perceptual disturbances: most often vision and hearing
  • Delusions
  • Language disturbance
  • Psychomotor disturbance
  • Sleep disturbance
