What is the golden hour?
The time between onset of injury and definitive surgical treatment

What does a secondary survey consist of
It is used to rule out more injures and conditions
What is Bradycardia
Less than than 60 beats per mintue
What is tachycardia
Greater than 100 beats per mintue
What is superventricular tachycardia
Greater than 150 beats per min
What is a normal pulse rate for an adult
60-80bpm
What is a normal pulse rate for a child
80-100 bpm
What is kortokoff sound
Noises heard through stethoscope resulting from collapsing artieres
What are the two types of respiratory emergencies
Respiratory distress (difficulty breathing)
Respiratory arrest ( when a person stops breathing)
How do you provide care for a person with respiratory distress
Get them comfortable
Get them in a position that allows breathing
Maintain an open airway
How you provide care for respiratory arrest
Give 1 breath for every 5 seconds(Adult)
Give 1 breath for every 3 sec. (Child/infant)
Continue for 2 min. Then check breathing
How you use a Bag-Value-Mask
It requires two people One holds the mask One holds the bad Give 1 squeeze for every 4 sec.(Adult) Give 1 squeeze for every 2 sec.( Child)
What are the two most common airway obstruction
Mechanical- due to foreign object in the airway such as food or toys
Anatomical- when your tongue loses muscle tone and falls back
The primary survey consist of
Size up the scene
Perform a primary assessment
Summon more advanced medical personnel
