What are the uses of dapagliflozin?
A
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus if metformin is contraindicated or in conjunction with other hypoglycaemics
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus with metformin if patient has heart failure HFrEF

What is the mechanism of action of dapaglifozin?
A
- Competitively reversible SGLT-2 inhibitor in PCT
- decreases glucose absorption from tubular filtrate
- increased urinary glucose excretion

What are adverse drug reactions with dapaglifozin?
A
- UTI + genital infections (due to increased glucose in urine)
- normoglycaemic DKA
- thirst
- polyuria
- pancreatitis
- modest weight loss
