- prevention of venous thromboembolism
- DVT + PE
- acute coronary syndromes with dual anti platelet therapy
- pregnancy instead of warfarin
- before warfarin as bridging treatment

A
Inhibition of factor Xa by enhancing ATII activity

It is too short to bind to both ATPIII + IIa

- bruising + bleeding
- skin reactions
- heparin induce thrombocytopenia
