the values, ideas, expectations and beliefs shared by members of the business
Official vs Real Corporate Culture
Offical: In the policies, objectives or slogans of a business
Real: Seen in unwritten or informal rules that guide how ppl in the business behave, such as the way staff dress, the language staff use, and the way staff treat each other and customers
Elements Corporate Culture: Symbols
Events or objects that are established to represent something the business believes to be important. e.g slogans, uniform, dress code, visual symbols (posters)
Elements Corporate Culture: Values and Practices
These are the way things are done in a business e.g honesty, hard work, teamwork, quality, customer service, employee participation and innnovation
Elements Corporate Culture: Rituals, rites and celebrations
routine behavioural patterns in a business’s everyday life.
Example : regular social gatherings can be held to help develop a sense of belonging among employees who work in small teams during the week.
Elements Corporate Culture: Heros
Champions who reflect the corporate culture and act as an example for others to follow.
Example: Employee of the month
