A
FREEDOM OF STATES
- allows interstate commerce in constitution ARTICLE 5
- constitutional amendments means they can’t be taken away
- Gun Free School Zones ACT - got halted by states

how does the 10th amendment protect state powers
A
- powers not reserved under federal government should be for state government
- congress only has the powers offered by constitution
- BRADY ACT = overturned the background check of people who want to buy a gun (state had a say in this)

A
- impossible to take away state powers without their permission
- block amendments they are opposed to
- 3/4 of states must approve, so only 13 states need to disapprove
- overrepresented states will not get rid of federalism

A
- give most powers to federal than state
- federal have more power over collect tax and coin money
- 14th amendment = racial equality
- 16th amendment = federal government determine income tax
