Condensate Flashcards
What is the tech spec minimum of the CST?
- 182,000gal
What are the HWP auto starts?
- Low # at:
130# (U1)
110# (U2)
What are the HWP trips?
- Overload/Overcurrent
What powers the HWPs?
- 1/2D North
- 1/2A Middle
- 1/2C South
What are the CBP auto starts?
- Low pressure at 325#
What are the CBP trips?
- Overload/Overcurrent
What is the flow capacity of the LP #1 heaters?
- Each string supplies 50% flow (We have 3)
What is the flow capacity of the LP #2-4 heaters?
- Each string supplies 80% flow (we have 2 strings) with a bypass that can provide 20% flow via CRV-224
What does CRV-55 do for you?
- Allows makeup from the CST to the Condenser Hotwells (Sensed on A and C hotwell lvl)
What does CRV-155 do for you?
- Allowd for excess condensate from hotwells to go back to the CST (Sensed on A and C hotwell lvl)
What does CRV-224 (2,3,4 Heater bypass valve) do?
- Allows having a heater string out and provides 20% flow
- Auto modulates open when MFP suction < 240#
- Trips open at 210# MFP Suction #
How do you reset CRV-224 (2,3,4 Heater bypass valve)?
- To reset, MFP Suction pressure > 260# and run controller to open
What do CRV-201-203 (Condensate Booster Pump Recirc Valves) do?
- Maintain 4000 gpm on running pumps
- ** Flow switch is on the common discharge header**
Where is the flow switch located for the Condensate Booster Pump Recirc Valves?
- ** Flow switch is on the common discharge header**
What do CMO-101(102) (SJAE bypass valves) allow?
- Manually position to achieve desired DP across SJAEs
- Prevents exceeding design flow of SJAEs
How much hood spray does each unit have?
- 138gpm (U1)
- 1200gpm (U2)
What does CMO-61 (SJAE and HWP recirc line valve) do for you?
- Provides continuous flow path from steam jet air ejector header to the main condensers to maintain minimum flow through the hotwell pumps and steam jet air ejector condensers
- 2400gpm min per pump
What does T.S. 3.7.6 (CST) state
- 2 Hrs at mode 3 steaming through the dump valves, MSSVs, or SG PORVs with cooldown with RHR
- 9 Hrs at mode 3 steaming though MSSVs or SG PORVs with no cooldown with RHR
What suction pressure do the CRV-224 valves help to maintain?
- 210#-240# at the MFP suction
What Unit(s) have Condenser equalizations and what are they for?
- Unit 1
- to maintain even stresses on the Turbine bearings
What actuates hood spray in Unit 1 (CRV-102) and Unit 2(CMO-40)?
- Generator Load < 7.5%
- Turbine Speed > 900 rpm
- Manual
If ‘A’ Hotwell is providing input to the HW Lvl Ctlr, then which hotwell level is being displayed on the Chart Recorder?
- ‘C’ Hotwell level is being displayed on the chart recorder
How does CRV-55 fail?
- CRV-55 fails closed
How does CRV-155 fail?
- CRV-155 fails closed
What is the purpose of the condensate system
- Returns condensed steam from main condensers and feedwater heater drains to the S/Gs while maintaining overall water inventory throughout the cycle
- Compensates for loss of fluid from the steam cycle when an atmospheric steam dump occurs
What power the CBPs
- 1/2D North
- 1/2 A Middle
- 1/2 C South
Why is there a unit difference with regards to the equalizing ducts between condensers
- U1 1 bearing between LPTs
- U2 2 bearings between LPTs
What is a secondary, non-safety related, function of the CST
- Supplies MFP seal water pump
What isolates the CST from atmosphere
- Travelling bladder inside the tank
