An area of the earths surface that has a human and/or physical characteristic that give it an identity that make it different from all areas around it

Areas of high economic development. Core regions dominate trade, industry, government and communications

Located far from core regions. They lack industrial and economic development

Core have lots of investment from countries, peripheral don’t
High inward migration in core region, none in peripheral
Young educated workforce in core region, aging population in peripheral
