- complacency (don’t see need or value in vaccine)
- convenience

Strategies for communicating with vaccine hesitant people
1) have communication strategy: use tailored approach (what they know already etc)
2) respect differences of opinions: establish why reluctant and acknowledge their opinion
3) be frank, open + honest: represent R and Bs, you can express concerns of risk of illness if they don’t get vaccinated
4) be patient centered
5) provide clear messaging: give good resources, encourage Qs

Offer: share knowledge and experiences
Tailor: tailor to address their concerns
Concerns: address them
Talk : talk through plan

Share: reasons why you think right for pt

Address: questions + concerns about vaccine
Remind: what vaccines do/protection of you and others
Explain : costs of getting disease
