  • Adenomas
  • Mutations in the APC gene (tumour suppresor)
  • V high risk of developing colonic cancer

Complications?

  • Majority of colonic cancers arise from pre-existing adenomatous polyps
  • Transformation of polyp to cancer 3-5 years - need screening
