ASA Class I
Healthy pt
no organic, physiologic, biochemical, or psychiatric disturbances
Describe: ASA class II
Mild systemic disease that may or may not be related to the reason for sx

Severe systemic disease
that limits activity, but is not incapacitating and may or may not be related to surgery
Describe: ASA class IV
Pt with incapacitating systemic disease that is a constant threat to life with or without sx
Describe: ASA class V
Moribund pt not expected to live 24 hours with or without surgery
submitted to sx as resuscitative effort

A brain dead pt whose organs are being harvested
