CLN Special/Mil Procedures Flashcards
How far south of NAVPI can westbound crossing traffic cross the FIR boundary, and what is this to ensure separation against?
No more than 5nm, to provide separation against UP155.
Who is responsible for traffic exiting the FIR via SOMVA/REDFA being vertically separated from eastbound crossing traffic through NAVPI?
S12 (If unable to cross FIR boundary vertically separated, a revision is to be passed)
How long before a NAVPI estimate are Swanwick (Mil) East required to send an electronic CFP request to S12? Does this need accepting?
At least 10 mins before NAVPI estimate. The CFP does not need accepting, it is for information purposes only.
If S10/11 are working the NAVPI crossing traffic, what details shall they pass to the S12P? What are the subsequent actions of the S12P?
C/s; SSR code; FL (including RVSM status); NAVPI estimate.
S12P sends a point out the tactical.
What scenarios may result in the implementation of NAVPI contingency?
- High workload on S10, which may preclude individual co-ordination of OAT crossers
- Loss of landline communications between Swanwick (Mil) and Dutch Military
- Military exercises such as TLP
What levels do S10 and S12 delegate to Swanwick (Mil) during NAVPI contingency for OAT crossers?
FL270 and FL280
How does NAVPI contingency affect S12 traffic routeing via LEDBO, SOMVA and REDFA?
- FL270 and FL280 not available as XFLs through REDFA/SOMVA
- Traffic routeing via LEDBO must be FL290+ by (abeam) ABEDA, otherwise planned out at FL250
- FL260 shall be used for slow-climbing traffic through SOMVA/REDFA
How does NAVPI contingency affect the standing agreements from NSE to CLN?
- SA for KK inbounds to S14 is suspended - traffic individually co-ordinated
- SA for ABBOT/EGTC inbounds to S12 is suspended - traffic individually co-ordinated
- The lowest level available for this traffic is FL290, unless S10 are able to descend the traffic to FL260 by 5nm after BUKUT
- Consider suspending/revising the S12 to TC REDFA and S14 to TC SABER standing agreements
In the event of a primary only aircraft being anticipated to penetrate/overfly the London Array, who must be notified prior to the aircraft entering the lateral confines of the London Array TMZ?
Southend ATC
What are the two Shoeburyness ranges and what are their vertical limits?
Where roughly are they located?
- EG D138: up to 13,000ft (OCNL 60,000ft)
- EG D138A: up to 6,000ft (OCNL 60,000ft)
- D138 is just to west of KOPUL, D138A just north of L179
When are the Shoeburyness Ranges available and who provides a DAAIS for them?
Hours of availability are when notified.
DAAIS:
When open - Southend Approach - 130.775
Other times - London FIR 124.6
What are the level bands of the EAMTA Low and High and when are the both available for booking?
EAMTA Low - FL245-285
- Available 0830-1800 (local)
EAMTA High - FL285+
- Availability will be notified via NOTAM on D-1 specifying an upper level
What buffer is the minimum overflying level of the EAMTA required to provide?
2,000ft in RVSM airspace and 3,000ft in non-RVSM airspace
When the EAMTA is in operation, what are the requirements for traffic routeing (U)P155?
Traffic must remain on or south of the centreline when below FL310 during EAMTA hours of operation
Describe the lateral and vertical boundaries of the Lakenheath ATA north and south areas.
Lakenheath ATA North - FL60-245
- Below S10 airspace from just west of LEDBO to the FIR boundary, extending north of LEDBO and BARMI.
Lakenheath ATA South - FL60-195
- From just west of LEDBO to the FIR boundary, extending to just south of P155
