Clinical Cases- ECG focus Flashcards
What do Premature atrial contractions look like on ECGs?
Premature P wave followed by a QRS and then an extended gap until the next heart beat
What do Premature ventricular contractions look like on ECGs?
Absent P wave with one wide QRS complex
What does Atrial fibrillation look like on an ECG?
Non-flat baseline, no p wave, irregular RR interval
What does Atrial flutter look like on ECG?
Saw tooth
What does Premature Junctional complex look like on ECG?
QRS with no P wave and can be inverted
What does Supraventricular tachycardia look like on ECG?
Fast, regular rhythm with no P waves and tight QRS
What does idioventricular rhythm look like on ECG?
Wide QRS with no P waves
What does VTach look like on ECG?
Fast, wide, loopy, regular QRS with no P waves
What does VFib look like on ECG?
Looks like VTach but smaller amplitude
What do primary AV blocks look like on ECGs?
Prolonged PR interval
What does secondary AV block type I (Wenckebach) look like?
PR interval progressively gets longer until there is a P wave but no QRS (dropped beat)
What do secondary AV block type II (Mobitz) look like?
Constant PR more P waves than QRS complex
What do Type 3 AV blocks look like?
Wide and loopy QRS with multiple P waves that are sporadically spaced throughout rhythm
What does Wandering Atrial Pacemaker look like on ECG?
P waves that almost all look different from each other
What does a junctional rhythm look like on ECG?
Looks normal except without a P wave or inverted P Wave, also around 40-60 bpm
