Classification of Organisms Flashcards
How are organisms classified
Organisms were first classified by a Swedish naturalist called Linnaeus in a way that allows the subdivision of living organisms into smaller and more specialised groups.
What is the Binomial System?
The Binomial system is the process by which living organisms are given two names, the generic name and the specific name.
The Generic name starts with a capital letter eg Genus and the specific name is just lower case eg species.
