What is positivism
A
Positivism is the name for the scientific study of the social world. Its goal is to formulate abstract and universal laws on the operative dynamics of the social universe.

Concept of positivism/interpretivism in research methods.

While positivism tries to generalize everything and relate it to universal law, interpretivism focuses on how people interpret the world differently based on the condition and try to understand a context.

Characteristics of Positivism

- it is said to be objective in naature
- they try to be neutral and discover the truth rather than being guided by their values.
- they are objective so their research is unbiased.
- they favour experiments, as these are typical methods used in natural sciences.
-they tend to used social surveys and questionnaires, which also is quantitative data.
