What do psychoanalytic theorists believe? (3)
A
- developmental change happens because of the influence of internal drives and emotions on behaviour
- when a baby is born, it is a blank slate and can mold
- some people say no, babies are preset, like when they bond with her mother, sucking etc.

- development occurs across the entire life span in psychosocial stages
- development results from the interaction between inner instinct and cultural demands
ie. stages come when demands from society changes

- we need to resolve needs, not crises
