Plantar reflex
A
- AKA Babinski reflex
- sole has been stroked upwards
- causes the big toe to move upward, and the other toes fan out
- under 1 to 2 years of age, Babinski present
- over 1 to 2 years of age and adults: Babinski absent

Rooting reflex
A
- stroking cheek
- baby turns face toward stimulation
- make sucking motions

Stepping reflex
A
- baby is held upright, feet touch the ground
- will make stepping motions as if they are walking
- prevalent from birth until 2 to 3 months.

A
- head is turned to one side
- extend arm and leg on the side the head is turned
- opposite arm and leg bend
- dissipates by six months

A
- response to
- slight drop
- sudden movements of crib
- loud noise
- makes symmetrical abduction of extremities
- places index and thumb into “C” shape
