Vast diversity. Iron hand rule saw a decline with Gorbachev which led to tension like revolts to happen.

Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Christian Democrats upset in 1988, 1989 East German revolution unfied both East and West. Tax raised to fix east Germany, collapse of economy increases unemployment and cause companies to hire abroad as law increased minimum wage of Germans.

Bosnia in 199201995 had mixed population; Bosnian war broke out, where they declared independence from Yugoslavia. Serbian Forces had ethnic cleansing, targeted Bosnian Muslims through mass killings. Peace Treaty (Dayton Accords) in Paris ending war. Kosovo (1999)Ethnic Albanians: Protested against Serbian control. US;/Nato bombed Serbian targets, forced Serbia to withdraw and agree to peace.
