- MOA: does not allow platelets to stick together to form a clot
- Adverse effects: bleeding
- Indications: reduce the risk of clot formation
- Contraindications: drug allergy, thrombocytopenia, and active bleeding

Heparin, warfarin, Enoxaparin (anticoagulants)
A
- MOA: prevents the formation of a clot or thrombus
- Adverse effects:
*Heparin: bleeding, hematoma, anemia, thrombocytopenia (monitor PTT)*Coumadin: bleeding, lethargy, muscle pain, purple toes (monitor PT/INR)
- Indications: MI, AFIB, and angina
- Contraindications: drug allergy or acute bleeding process
