Performing – problem-solving.
Adjourning – disband celebrate achievement.
Team norms
Roles and patterns of behavior that are accepted and expected by members of the team or whole organization
Team cohesiveness
Strength of the members desire to remain in a team and their commitment to it
Determinants of team cohesiveness
– Team interaction.
– Shared goals.
– Personal attraction to the team
Consequences of team cohesiveness
– Morale.
– Productivity
Groupthink
In agreement at any cost mentality the results in ineffective group or team decision making and poor decisions
Free rider
Individual who attends benefits from membership but does not contribute much to achieving the teams goals
Bad apples effect
Negative team or group members to withhold effort, express negative feelings and attitudes, and Violet important team norms and behaviors.
Example – the cocky arrogant player on the team that thinks he’s better than everybody else
