Chapter 10 Flashcards
Level 1
Little to no joint motion; non balance leg, arm, and core move slowly and controlled
Examples are single-leg balance, single-leg balance reach, and single-leg lift and chop.
Strength Level
Balance leg FROM eccentric/concentric actions
Examples are single-leg squat, single-leg Romanian deadlift, and lunge to
balance
Power Level
movement of the balance leg increases even more, with balance-power exercises
containing a hop with stabilization. A “hop” is when jumping and landing on a single leg, and “stabilization” refers to
pausing in a single-leg balance for 3-5 seconds upon landing.
Examples multiplanar hop with stabilization, multiplanar single-leg box hop-up with stabilization, and multiplanar single-leg
box hop-down with stabilization
Single leg throw and catch vs. single leg lift and chop[
lift/chop…lift one leg medicine ball diagonal to overhead
single leg position is a progression
medicine ball chest pass
single and two leg balance progression
2 leg stable, 2 leg unstable; one leg stable, one leg unstable
