Analogy
Similarity in behaviour function or relationship that are in other ways different from each other. used to make sense of present.
Insight problems
Designed to need outside of the box thinking. Hard due to functional fixedness. You have to leave the mental set of a perception
General intelligence
Contributes to performance on mental tests, partly with g and part measure of specific ability.
Cattels factors of g
Not one but two; fluid(Speed of proces, spatial thinking and memory) and crystallised (what you know). Test fall in two clusters, those that rely on raw reasoning fluid, those that rely on past experience
Stereotype threat
Where you perform worse if you’ve been warned the group you’re a part of generally performs worse. This is defeated if made known.
