List the changes that occur to the mother after birth.
A
- Go through puerprium (8 weeks)
- uterus contracts
- discharge of blood and tissue products from slowly shrinking uterus
- blood quantity returns to normal
- pulse rate is often slowed
- postnatal (after birth) depression
- return of menstruation

What is puerprium and how long does it last?
A
When the mothers uterus slowly returns to their non-pregnant state which lasts about 8 weeks.
