  1. Generalized - 6 months of symptoms
    1. tension on everything
    2. can’t leave work, so you “hide” - avoid people
    3. Automatic Branch of CNS turns on at the slightest signal
  2. Phobias - fear of an object or an activity
    1. when you avoid it at all costs
    2. e.g. agoraphobia
  3. Panic Disorder - Anxiety to the extreme
    1. panic attacks 1 per week
  4. O.C.D. - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  5. P.T.S.D. - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
    1. after experiencing a horrible event
    2. flashbacks
    3. same stress+fear come back later in life
    4. serving in war doubles you chance of getting this

    2. causes wreckless behavior or great creativity
  3. Dysthmic Disorder - pessimistic, people like them but they don’t do anything

  • split from reality
  • disease that shows up in a Brain Scan
  • *cause - too much Dopamine or too many dopamine receptors
  • symptoms:
    1. incoherent thinking - e.g.”How many days are left in the school year?” - rainy, snow, easter, hot days
    2. hallucinations - see, hear, or smell things that are not really there
    3. delusions - false beliefs
      1. e.g. PA is sending you a special message
    4. bizarre behavior - wild and negative expressions

  3. Histrionic - constant attention seekers, wants to be the “center of attention”, seeks praise
  4. Narcisstic - exaggerates own importance, fantasises that they are important
    1. responds to any criticism with rage
