Motivation
a desire that energizes your behavior and directs it towards a goal
Drive Reduction Theory
you have a need, your body creates a “drive”, and you fulfill that need
e.g. you need food - you get hungry - you eat

- Intrinsic - do it for yourself
- informative rewards - do things because you want to do it
- Extrinsic - do it for rewards
- controlling rewards - do it becase you get something
