Preserve various species soil and water
Minimizes impact on climate

Large live stock like cows, second most is dairy

How to eat more sustainably

What are GMO’s
Generically modified organisms
Enhance sustainability
No evidence of danger but environmental concerns
Pros and cons of GMO
- increased vitamin content of food
- Improved taste and texture
- faster growing plants and animals
Cons:
- genetic changes that are unexpected and harmful
- Plants may be less resistant to some pests and more susceptible to others
What is required for a food to be labeled organic?
- Plant or animal products
- no use of artificial pesticides
- Can be contaminated with bacteria
- USDA regulation
Needs to be 70% or more to qualify
