Why is it called Superfund?
How does it pay for site cleanup?
A
CERCLA:
it has a large trust that it uses to pay for site cleanup. this trust comes from excise taxes on things like petroleum and chemicals.
-it tries to force the responsible party to do so (70% works) and if not it uses its trust fund than ties to get reimbursed by the responsible party.
