cardiomyopathy Flashcards
primary cardiomyopathy
genetic or award
secondary cardiomyopathy
part of systemic disorder
three patterns of cardiomyopathy
dilated/congestive, hypertrophic, obstructive/obliterative
dilated path
progressive cardiac dilation/hypertrophy (entire heart!)
charcteristics of dilated
LV disfunction, increased LB dilation, no HTN/valve disease, flabby/pale heart
most dilated is from
prior MI
coin of dilated
20-50, asymptote L dilation> progressive, dyspnea, fatue, EF<25
other causes of DIlated
genetic, virus, immunologic, toxins, arch, iron, childbirth
arrthymogenic RV
inherited, rare, RV failure leads to arrhythmia, fat and fibrosis relapse myocte
hypertrophic cardio
uncommon, hypertrophy disproportonate to heart load, AD, sarcomere proteins, familial
clin of hypertrophic
sudden cardiac death, large, thick heart, septal thickening.asym
history of hypertrophic
myofiver disarray, interstitial fibrosis in septum
restrictive
decerase in ventricle compliance, infiltration of myocardium
restrictive causes
(amyloid, sarcoid, hemochromatosis, met, post radiation
