A

Building notice and full plans check.

What is the diiferne between a building notice and full plans check?

A

A building notice is where you tell the local building control you plan to start work and they will come and inspect. A plan check will mean the building control officer checks the plans before construction starts and feedbacks whether they are compliant.

A

Simple projects so long as it is not a workplace, quick start needed

Any building project where you want addtional input to check the plans comply typically more complex projects

Part T comes into affect from the 1st october 2024. It covers toilet accomidation in buildings which are not dwellings.

No the work did not require a BC application, however I did confirm this with the local building control authority.

What works are exempt from building regulations?

A
  • Porches and conservatories of less than 30m2
  • detached garages/ sheds. greenhouses of less than 30m2
  • carports that are open on at east 2 sides of less than 30m2
  • agricultral buildings
  • Listed buildings where compliance with the energy efficiency requirements would unacceptably alter their character or appearance.

yes, provided the area is greater than 50% of the surface of the individual element or 25% of the total building envelope.
