What diet would you suggest for blood stagnation?
- Light and mildy spicy foods
- foods cooked by stir fry, poaching, steaming
- fibre through more vegetables, less carbs and meat
- keeping sugar and fruit away from main meals
- Avoiding dairy with meat
- Avoiding too many protein rich foods with easily digestible ones.
What foods are beneficial for Qi stagnation?
Vegetables: shallot, leak, chives, garlic, eggplant, seaweed, fungi, onion and mustard greens

Collected when node disc on rhizome protrudes and is purplish in summer.
Dried under the sun or baked, then cut into pieces.
What are the actions and inactions of Chuan Xiong?
- Invigorates Blood and promotes Qi movement: any blood stasis pattern which as dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, difficult labour, retained lochia or stagnation of Qi and Blood. Pain and soreness of chest.
- Expels wind and alleviates pain: externally contracted Wind, headache, dizziness, skin conditions, painful obstruction.

- Induces downward movement of Blood & Fire: treats chaotic movement of blood heat in the UJ or Yin Xu w/ ascendant fire or ascending Yang
- Clears damp heat in LJ: oedema, painful urinary dribbling with stones
