A

Excessive alpha chains are produced but unable to form tetramers. They instead bind to red blood cell membranes and cause memberane

How is clot retraction performed?

A

Platelets pull on fibrin threads.
- trapped platelets release factor XIII stabilizing the fibrin threads
• Edges of damaged vessel are pulled together
• Fibroblasts & endothelial cells repair the blood vessel

A

➢ neutrophils 60-70%(↑ in acute bacterial infection)
➢ lymphocyte 20-25% (↑ in chronic infection)
