- Urothelial/Transitional cell carcinoma ( 90%)
- Squamous cell carcinoma
- Adenocarcinoma ( v rare)

Urothelial/Transitional cell carcinoma
A
- Malignancy of the transitional epithelium of the bladder
- Most common - mutation of p53
- Usually forms non invasive papillary tumous

Squamous cell carcinoma
A
- Transitional epithelial cells differentiate into squamous cells to form squamous cell carcinoma
- Commonly caused by SCHISTOSOMA HAEMOTOBIUM

Adenocarcinoma
A
- Transitional epithelial cells differentiate into glandular cells
- Tumors secrete mucin to form mucinuria
- Very rare

- Smoking
- Alcohol abuse

Clinical manifes of bladder cancer
A
- Haematuria
- Palpable mass
- Pelvic pain
