What’s the 1st amendment
Congress must not interfere with freedom of religion, speech or press, assembly, and petition
2nd amendment
The people may bear arms
3rd amendment
Soldiers may not be arbitrarily quartered on the people (none in time or peace or war without consent of owner war - a manner prescribed by law)
4th amendment
Unreasonable searches are forbidden
No searches without search warrants
5th amendment
The individual is guaranteed certain rights when on trial and the right to live, liberty, and property
(No double jeopardy, you don’t have to speak
6th amendment
An accused person has important rights
Speedy and public trial , witness, counsel for person’s defense
7th amendment
The rules of common law are recognized
(Value in controversy exceeds 20 - right od trial by jury, no fact tried by jury shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States
8th amendment
Excessive fines and unusual punishments are forbidden
No cruel and unusual punishment
9th amendment
The people retain rights not here enumerated (if the const doesnt say you can’t, you can)
10th amendment
Powers not delegated to the federal government are reserved to the states and the people (federalism)
