Straight ahead.,,

A

*Här kan ni också hamna i Stockholms segaste rödljus, om det blir så kan du ta informationen om
Berwaldhallen med en gång, spara den annars till efter vattnet

BERWALDHALLEN

Straight ahead you find a grey building. This is Berwaldhallen, a concert hall named after the Swedish composer Franz Berwald. Cool thing about it is that we can’t see most of the building - over half of it is located inside the mountain. We build it this way so it shouldn’t take up too much space in this neighborhood.

Q

We are driving into…

A

We are driving into the diplomatic city. On your right you have the Nobelpark, and now we ́re gonna stop for a while. Because on your left hand side you will find the smallest statue in Stockholm. You see that little man? That is Alfred Nobel, looking out over his own park. The clothes he’s wearing depends on which time of the year it is.

Får du feeling kan du låta folk på höger sida i bussen resa sig upp för att se Alfred lite bättre

Here in the Diplomatic city lies most of the embassies in Stockholm. Straight forward you can see the water where we soon gonna be in, in the shape…. of a shark!

Q

On your left hand side

A

On your left hand side, after the white building you have the smallest church in Stockholm, the English church. It was standing in another place before, but they moved it here brick by brick.

So, the Diplomatic city. Beautiful villas to your left facing the water. Biggest, maybe not the most beautiful – The US embassy. The Americans didn’t care much about that, no, they built an exact replica of this one in Copenhagen, Probably got one of those 2for1 offers and were committed to the deal.

Q

Remember…

A

Remember that I said 40% of the city is parks and green areas. What you see here is Gärdet and Gärdet in Swedish means field. This is where our soldiers used to practice back in history before going out to war. Today we see the Östermalm residents power-walking here in tights. Time changes.
