Serratus posterior superior and serratus posterior inferior.
What are the superior attachments of serratus posterior superior?
Nuchal ligaments, spinous processes of C7 to T3 vertebrae.
What are the inferior attachments of serratus posterior superior?
Superior borders of 2nd and 4th ribs.
What is the serratus posterior superior innervated by?
2nd to 5th intercostal nerves.
What is the arterial supply of the serratus posterior superior?
Posterior intercostal arteries.
What is the action of the serratus posterior superior?
Proprioception (elevated ribs).
What are the superior attachments of serratus posterior inferior?
Spinous processes of T11 to L2 vertebrae.
What are the inferior attachments of serratus posterior inferior?
Inferior borders of 8th to 12th ribs near their angles.
What is the serratus posterior inferior innervated by?
Anterior rami to T9 to T12 thoracic spinal nerve.
What is the arterial supply of the serratus posterior inferior?
Posterior intercostal arteries, the lumbar arteries.
What is the action of the serratus posterior inferior?
Proprioception (depresses ribs).
