Typical antispychotics
A
Block D2 receptor and several others. High saturation needed for therapeutic effect, leads to many SE: hypotension, sedative, nausea and vomiting, prolactin dysregulation. Treat only negative symptoms.

Atypical antispychotics
A
Inhibit D2, 5HT2A, H1, M2, alpha 1 and 2, D4 and activate NMDA. Treat positive and negative symptoms. SE: sedation, salivation, myocarditis, obesity, agranulocytosis.
