Anti Inflammatory Drugs Flashcards
NSAIDs
COX inhibitors, TxS (cox1) vs PGI2 (cox2). Celecoxib selective for cox 2.
Glucocorticoids
Inhibit NFkB and AP1 and decrease prounflammatory cytokines and lymphocyte recruitment. Activate GRE which creates antiinflammatory factors like annexin 1 which stops prostaglandin synthesis. SE kushings syndrome (lipolysis, abdominal fat deposition, skin thinning, impaired wound healing, osteoporosis, diabetes, moos instability and sleep disturbances.
Methatraxate
Folic acid antagonist which inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis and targets rapidly dividing cells.
Ciclosporin
Binds cyclophilin and activates it, inhibits calmodulin and calcinurin and thus stops NFkB activation and the production of pro inflammatory cytokines like IL2
Chloroquine
Inhibits proteosome and lysosome, inhibits APCs.
Etaracept
TNF alpha receptor antibody blocks it.
Anabenra
IL1 receptor agonist
Abatacept
Targets costimulation molecules like CD 80/86.
Other antibodies
IL2R, IL6R, CD20
