A
-Tenderness over distal tibia
or tenderness over fibula
-Inability to weight bear for 4 steps

A
Walking cast
OR
Splint for 6 weeks

A
- Isolated distal fibular fracture
- No medial fracture
- No rupture of deltoid ligament
- More common

- Rupture of deltoid ligament
- Risk of posttraumatic OA

A
Suspected by bruising and tenderness medially

Talar shift on AP view X-ray

- Anatomic reduction
- Rigid internal fixation
- Minimize risk of OA with any talar shift
