Anatomy (Neurovasculature Pelvis) Flashcards
1
Q
Anterior Divisions of the Internal Iliac Artery
A
- Umbilical a. (parietal)
- Obturator a. (parietal)
- Inferior gluteal a. (parietal)
- Internal pudendal a. (parietal)
2
Q
Posterior Divisions of the Internal Iliac Artery
A
- Superior gluteal a. (parietal)
- Lateral sacral a. (parietal)
- Iliolumbar a. (parietal)
3
Q
Umbilical Artery
A
- Occluded in the adult
- Occluded part can be found in the medial umbilical ligament
- Gives rise to the superior vesicle & uterine artery
4
Q
Obturator Artery
A
- Supplies the iliacus m. & other muscles in the lower limb
5
Q
Inferior Gluteal Artery
A
- A terminal branch of the anterior division of the internal iliac artery
- Passes out of the pelvis through the greater sciatic foramen to supply the lower limb
6
Q
Internal Pudendal Artery
A
- A terminal branch of the anterior division of the internal iliac artery
- Main artery of the perineum
7
Q
Iliolumbar Artery
A
- Supplies the iliacus & psoas muscles
8
Q
Lateral Sacral Artery
A
- Supplies spinal branches that enter the anterior sacral foramen
9
Q
Superior Gluteal Artery
A
- Supply structures in the gluteal region of the lower limb
10
Q
Veins of Pelvis
A
- Surround organs in true pelvis
- Follow arteries
- Communicate with external & internal vertebral plexuses which allows for disease to spread
11
Q
Sacral vs Pelvic Splanchnics
A
Sacral - preganglionic sympathetic
Pelvic - preganglionic parasympathetic fibers from S2, S3, S4
