Anatomy Dissection 10 Flashcards
What nerve supplies deltoid muscle?
Axillary
What muscle attaches proximally to lateral third of clavicle and inferior aspects of scapular spine and acromion but also attaches distally to deltoid tuberosity of humerus?
Deltoid muscle
What should you be aware of between the supraspinatus tendon and acromion process of scapula?
Subacromial bursa
What condition might give rise to shoulder pain especially on abduction?
Subacromial bursitis
What gives the sensory innervation to posterior aspect of arm medially?
Anterior rami of spinal nerves C8, T1 & T2
What type of pain is related to the left upper limb, via the intercostobrachial nerve and medial and posterior cutaneous nerves of arms and medial cuaneous nerve of forearm?
Cardiac referred pain
What gives the sensory innervation to posterior aspect of arm laterally?
Anterior rami of spinal nerves C5 & C6 via axillary nerve
What is the only muscle of the posterior compartment of arm?
Triceps brachii
What nerve supplies triceps brachii?
Nerve of posterior compartment of arm - radial nerve
What are the three proximal attachments of triceps brachii?
- Infraglenoid tubercle of scapula (long head)
- Superior (lateral head) to radial groove of humerus
- Inferior (medial head) to radial groove of humerus
What do all three heads of triceps brachii combine to form and what does it attach to?
Triceps tendon which attaches to olecranon process of ulna
What muscle of arm is involved in weak extension of the arm at shoulder joint, and extension of forearm at elbow joint?
Triceps brachii
