What medications and what doses are used for Adult reactive airway disease?
A
Magnesium sulfate: for refractory situations
IV/IO- 2 g/5 min
Do not give faster than 1 g a minute
Mix 2 g in 250 mL of normal saline and run at the equivalent of 3000 mL per hour.
Max of 4 g
Epinephrine:
.3 –.5 mg IM
Use caution and patients over 65 or patients with a cardiac history.
Solu-Medrol:
125 mg
Hold for fever, productive cough, or suspicion of CHF etiology
