a co-ocurring cluster of impairing symptoms relating to self-regulation (executive functioning) which is developmentally inappropriate; impairing , pervasive and longstadning

barrier to leraning ; frequently in trouble and disorganisation, forgetting and losing things

hard to parent; increased family dstress, anger and upset and risk of harm (impulsive behaviour)

social communication difficulties; LD; attachment difficulties; mood and anxiety problems; behavioural disorders (ODD/CD); substance use

high rates of crime, substance misuse and psychatric disorder

anti-depressants; antihypertensives (alpha agonists); antipsychotics

social skills training; sleep and diet
How do stimulants work in ADHD?
improve dopaminergic neurotransmission in networks involved in executive funcioning- prefrontla cortex
