- high potassium, low sodium, low glucose
- ACTH high, cortisol low

  • indicated for acute or chronic adrenal insufficiency
  • combo mineralocorticoid and adrenal corticoid
  • risk for hyperglycemia, wt gain, immunosuppression, slowed wound healing, osteoporosis, sodium retention
    = IV diluted pushed over 30sec
  • must be tapered
  • no live vaccines

  • used w/ other drugs
  • produces sodium retention & potassium secretion
  • AE: hyperglycemia, edema, HTN, wt gain, immunosuppression
  • interacts w/ furosemide
  • CI systemic fungal infections
  • assess wt regularly
