A
- Sepsis: a serious communicable infection transmitted via respiratory secretions - bacteria get into the circulating blood

What is the organism responsible for Sepsis?
A
- Gram Negative Neisseria Meningitides

What are the features of Meningitis?
A
- Fever, Headache, Photophobia
- Hypotension, Fever, Myalgia
- Non-blanching purpuric rash on the trunk and extremities
- Progress to ecchymoses, Haemorrhagic bullae and tissue necrosis

What is the Managment?
A
- IV benzylpenicillin

What are the complications of Acute Meningoccaemia?
A
- Septicaemic shock, DIC, Multi-organ failure and death
